And here we have one of the few parts of season 8 people liked.
Great to see Brienne finally get her knighthood. No one in the show was more deserving.

It beggars belief that this monumental show was destroyed the way it was....such a shame that the Actors & all the members of the production will be left with the memory of such a terrible end to such a fantastic show.

She's the bravest, most loyal, and fight for justice. She's the true knight, but cannot be knight because she is woman. But the 'true' knight spent their time with whoring, drunk, and slaught innocent peoples
Simply, Best Character in this series

Can I just steal 2 minutes of your time and bring your attention to the line "In the name of the father, I charge you to be just." I don't know if it's my headphones or my ears, but the pitch of his voice when he says that line fits perfectly with the music. Also, the reverb of the "just" part sends shivers down my spine.

I never realised upon this moment how Brienne of Tarth was/is so important to this show. “ arise Brienne of Tarth a knight of the seven kingdoms “.... it pulls at a heart string for sure every time..

its emotional because it becomes terribly obvious by the knighting ritual, that brienne has lived her whole life with the pristine conduct of a knight. this is just a formality. great scene.

Despite all Jamie's bs, he was first and foremost a knight, he was no coward and he cared about his men and kept his word...he earned my respect during this scene. It was perfect.

This was a great scene and it should have been the end of Brienne's story arch. Her romantic arch with Jaime ending in rejection was too unsettling and emotionally dissatisfying for such an epic archetypal character. A BETTER ENDING: Brienne knights Podrick right after she is knighted. Brienne and Podrick are Knight's of Innocence, Defenders of Innocence. Other than Meera and Jojen Reed, they are most angelic characters in the story, angel's made flesh. Moreover, Brienne has a Valerian Steel sword forged from Ice. With this in mind, Brienne and should have fought a white walker, if not multiple white walkers. An emotionally cathartic and powerfully symbolic ending would have been Brienne dying/sacrificing herself to protect the women, children and elderly in the crypt. Imagine Brienne and Jaime in an epic battle with white walkers with their Valerian steel swords, with the defenseless and innocent literally right behind them, or better yet the children and Podrick fighting beside them. It would have created cathartic, epic imagery, the juxtaposition of the Truest Knight Brienne and the Greatest Failed Knight Jaime, yin and yang, fighting as one (though, a caveat to Jaime's failure is that he did so to protect the innocent of King's Landing, which is actually only breaking the vow of the King's Guard to fulfill his vow of being a Knight). You could easily add Jaime and Podrick in with Brienne to sacrifice themselves as well for an extra emotional punch, or you could have Jaime and Podrick move on to protect Bran. If Jaime died protecting Bran that would have completed his story arch as well, going full circle from pushing him out of a tower window to laying down his life, unknowingly for the future King of Westeros. If Podrick somehow survived, he could be promoted to Bran's Kingsguard and recorded all of Jaime's final deeds and added Brienne in just for the fun of it, for being Renly's Kingsguard, Sansa's Queensguard, and protecting pre-King Brandon Stark and his castle and people. Anyways, just had to get that out of my system.

Jaime's scenes with a lot of characters are so touching: this with Brienne, his apology to Bran, his farewell to Tyrion 😥, his death with Cersei 😪 and when Tyrion found Jamie's and Cercei's bodies, his arm was on top of her protecting 😓😪😢 I'll miss him and Tyrion the most.
