One of the good songs they had before becoming sell outs to the radio friendly crap and the music bosses illuminati and Jews.

Dude, fuck off. Every single one of their albums is different from the rest. Yeah, their punk sound is rad, but so is their newer stuff.
Besides, it isn’t the sound that matters-it’s the substance. And I’ll eat my own asshole if they don’t have substance in their songs anymore.

no not even close. dont u dare call them sellouts. they do what they want to and their music drastically changes from genre to genre. not to make money, but to get their message to as many people as possible.

But indeed i think some of the old musics are more heavy and critical, while the more recent are more "raio friendly" almost pop.

This song is clearly about the last 2 popcorn kernels in the dark bag slowly finding their way to the bottom and the dance is bursting out of the shell. Duh.

I love Rise Against. But they're not punk... not anymore. They are definitely something else. But just because kids think the Warp'd Tour is punk doesn't make it so.
(and God... I wish people would stop calling Emo punk. No! Bad hipsters!)

    • 4N4RCHY
      4N4RCHY Year ago

your an idiot. emo came from punk. this isnt emo. this is emo-core which is a mixture. its when punk music gets emotional. theres even folk-punk. which doesnt sound like your traditional punk, but it is. punk is defined by the people not the genre. its people that have a common connect through punk culture. rise against is still punk, but they are a more emotional punk band. they have punk values and themes. but they are a lot softer than most punk bands.

People sadly follow emotions more than they follow intellect. Savior does a good job of acting on hormones. People simply like it because it does this so well. If this were not true, Megadeth would have a following larger than any other.

Whoops. In my haste to reply I seem to have forgotten the 'l'. Or maybe I just like a back as long as its blue. I am not quite sure. Perhaps both.

  • Megacaesar
    Megacaesar 6 years ago

I think I would have done the same. I also think we are now creating the ultimate spam, talking about favorite colors on a rock song's lyrics video. That put aside- I like dark red too. The reason why my favorite color(s) are the darker shades of blue (I like back too, by the way) are because brighter colors tend to give me migraines. That, and the room in which I slept when I was really young was dark blue. My mom painted it with dolphins on the walls.

No they're not punk. Many would really like to still consider Rise Against as punk but they aren't. They're alternative/rock. But don't get me wrong, they completely still have a punk message. They'll always have that little bit punk with them.
Nonetheless Rise Against is amazing in which ever style they choose.

@MrQuickSqueez Oh I don't know, maybe because these chain-stores are shipping countless jobs out of the US by only importing cheap crap from eastern Asia where people live in slave-like conditions, and what isn't imported is usually so energy-deficient/cruel/semi-toxic that it should be illegal?

  • Heather Stock
    Heather Stock 7 years ago

@Evnyofdeath: Faded Glory is a Wal-Mart exclusive brand. It isn't sold anywhere else so I'm pretty sure they own it. =P seems like the kind of conversation that would be inspired by "prayer of the refugee" rather than this song. XD but whatever. I don't buy from Wal-Mart anymore so idrc.

  • Heather Stock

@themightychickens: yep. Anyone is. It's not just that I don't support multi-billion dollar corporations, it's the fact that the Wal-Mart CEO owns so many of the sweatshops over in China and I just can't buy into that. =\ there's a reason one of their brands is called Faded Glory. XD

  • Heather Stock
    Heather Stock 7 years ago

Okay....I'm not sure about this, anyone's guess is as good as mine, but to me this song is about him owning up to his shit with someone. It's like saying "listen, I know I screwed up, but I've been through hell to be here with you. I'm not asking you to forgive me, just let me prove to you that I'm here to stay this time." It's so deep and sweet and just....wow. I love this song so, so much. Maybe I'll go as far as to say it's one of Rise's best songs period.

  • Heather Stock
    Heather Stock 7 years ago

@boss155100: Ohhh...god some of my favorite kines in the song. In my opinion it starts the song off well, and paints an immediate picture of what's happening. It just helps to create the image of the weariness that's implied in the chorus. "Clock strip the hours, I count the miles" is like saying "time's passing too slow and all I can do is pay attention it." The overall song, I think, is him trying to get someone to take him back by showing her that he'll do anything for her.
