OMG how I love this song. I feel so good after sining it out loud.
So glad i finally know what that whole dream corp llc ad was about
One of the good songs they had before becoming sell outs to the radio friendly crap and the music bosses illuminati and Jews.
you see kids, that is why you dont become vegan
no not even close. dont u dare call them sellouts. they do what they want to and their music drastically changes from genre to genre. not to make money, but to get their message to as many people as possible.
vegan4 life troll? But indeed i think some of the old musics are more heavy and critical, while the more recent are more "raio friendly" almost pop.
vegan4 life um that last part......what?
You're a vegan. You can't have an opinion.
This song is clearly about the last 2 popcorn kernels in the dark bag slowly finding their way to the bottom and the dance is bursting out of the shell. Duh.
Punk is all about message dude, you're wrong.
I love Rise Against. But they're not punk... not anymore. They are definitely something else. But just because kids think the Warp'd Tour is punk doesn't make it so.(and God... I wish people would stop calling Emo punk. No! Bad hipsters!)
your an idiot. emo came from punk. this isnt emo. this is emo-core which is a mixture. its when punk music gets emotional. theres even folk-punk. which doesnt sound like your traditional punk, but it is. punk is defined by the people not the genre. its people that have a common connect through punk culture. rise against is still punk, but they are a more emotional punk band. they have punk values and themes. but they are a lot softer than most punk bands.
Greatest punk band ever.
servitude and silence*, not sadness
Really glad this video in no longer banned
You should view the "making of Savior" video. The content of the video is explained...
this is my punk rock love song i sing to my girl friend, and she loves it as much as i do lol
Savior is still good just the video is too gay
People sadly follow emotions more than they follow intellect. Savior does a good job of acting on hormones. People simply like it because it does this so well. If this were not true, Megadeth would have a following larger than any other.
Giraffe's right, though. Their last two or three albums moved in a pretty mainstream hard alternative direction.
Unavailable for mobike devices. Damn it. And, @SherlockGnome, The Good Left Undone is my favorite :)
The bonus song I got was Built to Last?
Agreed...Savior used to be one of my fave Rise Against songs, but then I listened to this.
Truer words have never been spoken
English is a foreign language for me. And I like science and foreign languages. I have/had troubles with math (mainly algebra). I am no longer in High School, though. So I don't have these subjects.
That keeps making me think of 'chocolate rain'. Someone could do a parody of that song, but then with acid. It will surely be an evil song.
I see. I checked out one of their songs. Sounded pretty good.
I must admit I've never listened to even one of those three bands. I'll look them up. ^^
I think mine is Rise Against, actually. What about yours?
Finally, back to the topic at hand ;D
I just read...that entire chain....life=complete...*dies*
I am not sure how much, but I AM sure that I should drink more. What about yourself?
I was in a haste to reply because I was minutes away from going to bed. I like playing League of Legends. I am trying to kick my videogame addiction, so I am only playing games with my friends.
Whoops. In my haste to reply I seem to have forgotten the 'l'. Or maybe I just like a back as long as its blue. I am not quite sure. Perhaps both.
I think I would have done the same. I also think we are now creating the ultimate spam, talking about favorite colors on a rock song's lyrics video. That put aside- I like dark red too. The reason why my favorite color(s) are the darker shades of blue (I like back too, by the way) are because brighter colors tend to give me migraines. That, and the room in which I slept when I was really young was dark blue. My mom painted it with dolphins on the walls.
Okay, okay- I won't go! D:I'll tell you the completely irrelevant fact that my favorite color is navy blue.
I apologize for the senseless argument. I suppose I (perhaps both of us) had a little too much time on my hands. ^^Here we part ways, stranger.
Perhaps they should have added '*end talking about interested subject*' at the end of every sentence. Surely I would have known then.
I was merely pointing out how much I loved these discussions but then asked the question as to why one would discuss which labels would fit instead of listen to it.Thank you for answering my purely curious remark. I now know exactly why. ^^
I love how people have entire discussions about which labels to attribute music. Why spend time labeling music if you can close your eyes, lean back and enjoy it instead?
Breath deep and sleazy
Hmmm, is it 'Tomorrow we might wake in servitude and sadness' or 'Tomorrow we might wake in servitude and silence'. Because on every site on the internet says silence. But to be fair I also hear sadness instead of silence...
Rise Against has an EP called "This Is Noise" and but tonight we dance was first on there
That comment made no sence at all, this song is on The Sufferer and the Witness.
XD XD XD
it is also on this is noise
Yeah I'd go with that.
i think its alternative punk. because punk is against the goverment.
lol Fair enough.
rise against come in their own category.. awesome
holy shit there's also 103 likes O_o
Maybe. I just wouldn't consider the newer Rise Against punk *shrug* I mean I could consider it, but I think of it more as Alternative.
Um no you just have the wrong criteria for punk.
I actually apologize for what I said. I thought you were the other guy I was aruging with.
I apparently do care too much when I even bother telling you to shut up.
You seem to care too.
You do realise that punk rock is still punk, no matter how soft they go. Now please, quit caring so much about genres.
lol no. You don't know what Punk is. They USE to be Punk. They aren't anymore.
They are obviously Punk......ask like any website. haha
Savior's still amazing.
Ugh this should really be the song that mainstream pop culture knows them for, not Savior. Kick ass song.
have you heard them?
oh my god i thought i had heard all rise against songs!! :')
ive got over 90 of them, plus some live and acoustic versions, thats a lot to listin to
Why make a cover when the song is already amazing? You can't improve on something that was done perfectly the first time. :)
No they're not punk. Many would really like to still consider Rise Against as punk but they aren't. They're alternative/rock. But don't get me wrong, they completely still have a punk message. They'll always have that little bit punk with them.Nonetheless Rise Against is amazing in which ever style they choose.
Exactly what i said, First one would be classified as punk rock, the second one, undoubtedly is punk.
Your both wrong, their new albums are punk rock.
I hate it when people quote a lyric every1 heard but 'I know not your sarrow, but i know mine' is so perfect XD
I like the solo.
what is there album "this is noise" just a selection of some of there songs?
he was pointing out that rise against is punk, not rock
The 11dislikers hate rock music! All hail rock!
@PrancingGazel All we can do is speculate. It's rather pointless really. The world is what it is. The last thing Amerikan's are worring about is what wal-mart is doing. Hell, I could use a part-time job there.
@MrQuickSqueez The US shouldn't have control over what the world does, if that were the case, the rest of the world would be like the worst parts of fucking Africa. American politicians have never had anything but self-interests in mind.
@themightychickens Yeah, we had aggressive argument in my Urban Ecology class about that the other day. Just wanted to know if you were aware. The U.S has no control over what other countries do. The world is a giant grease ball.
@MrQuickSqueez Oh I don't know, maybe because these chain-stores are shipping countless jobs out of the US by only importing cheap crap from eastern Asia where people live in slave-like conditions, and what isn't imported is usually so energy-deficient/cruel/semi-toxic that it should be illegal?
@themightychickens Why is walmart so bad? What's with all the atrocity towards walmart?
@Asainpowa *Wal-mart- and it has to do with Rise Against
@sometimesmileysophie haha if you want to check just go to azlyrics and search rize against lyrics... it will show you a list of their songs... go for it lol
WHAT THE FUCK DOES WALL MART HAVE TO DO WITH THIS SONG?
@Evnyofdeath: Faded Glory is a Wal-Mart exclusive brand. It isn't sold anywhere else so I'm pretty sure they own it. =P seems like the kind of conversation that would be inspired by "prayer of the refugee" rather than this song. XD but whatever. I don't buy from Wal-Mart anymore so idrc.
@alanihawaii123 ...Cept I don't think Wal-Mart owns Faded Glory...if you're going to make an anayogy like that, get it right with who owns what
@themightychickens: yep. Anyone is. It's not just that I don't support multi-billion dollar corporations, it's the fact that the Wal-Mart CEO owns so many of the sweatshops over in China and I just can't buy into that. =\ there's a reason one of their brands is called Faded Glory. XD
Okay....I'm not sure about this, anyone's guess is as good as mine, but to me this song is about him owning up to his shit with someone. It's like saying "listen, I know I screwed up, but I've been through hell to be here with you. I'm not asking you to forgive me, just let me prove to you that I'm here to stay this time." It's so deep and sweet and just....wow. I love this song so, so much. Maybe I'll go as far as to say it's one of Rise's best songs period.
@boss155100: Ohhh...god some of my favorite kines in the song. In my opinion it starts the song off well, and paints an immediate picture of what's happening. It just helps to create the image of the weariness that's implied in the chorus. "Clock strip the hours, I count the miles" is like saying "time's passing too slow and all I can do is pay attention it." The overall song, I think, is him trying to get someone to take him back by showing her that he'll do anything for her.
@TheTrophieStars for what....he was in a bad situation.... and he couldn't tell her how he feels??.... also... ''a language universal but i speak not its tongue'' what does he mean with that?
Can anyone (including themighty) tell the meaning of the :''Breath deep and easy swallow this pride, stare at my shaking hands through bonde dry blood shot eyesClock strip the hours i count the miles.''
@Annieloveshermusic awesome....now that it's January, I have to ask......was it EPIC?
@TheExploitedNirvana READ THE DISCRIPTION !!!
@TheExploitedNirvana It's from "This Is Noise"
@sometimesmileysophie I'm quite sure nobody has been counting..
SPARTANS TONIGHT WE DANCE IN HELL!
I face-palm when people think this song is about dancing. xD
@chimeracrusher lol ikr, people always try and comment or argue with the top comment, even if its years old lol xD
