How is Joe Delaney not on this list? AFC Rookie of the Year, KC Chiefs 1981 team MVP with over 1100 rushing yards at 4.8 yds/carry. His death showed what kind of man he was, but he never really got the chance to show how great he could’ve been as a player.

How about running back Joe Delaney of the Kansas City Chiefs, during the offseason after his rookie year he jumped in a pond in Louisiana to save to Drowning children but he couldn't swim and he died. Not to mention he ran for over a thousand yards in his only NFL season.

Yao was good but wasn't the best player in his role and if just talking about playing ability then any humanity involvement should be ignored. The basketball player who got an OD makes no sense since he never played a single game in the pros. Bobby Orr still is a hockey god and we all know that. Sandy is regarded as the one of the best. Any player at 30 is at their peak.

  • Sam Bramstedt
Sam Bramstedt 11 months ago +2

Didn't quite do Mike Bossy justice. Had 50 goals 9 of his 10 NHL seasons (10th was shortened by injury). Only one other player in history had 9 50 goal seasons, Gretzky, and it was over twice as many seasons
I know it's not a hockey list, but you could almost make a case for Lemieux too. Between the cancer and back pain so bad he couldn't bend over to tie his own skates before some games, and despite never playing his 1000th career game, he's still top 10 all time in NHL points. Imagine if he'd stayed healthy and had a full 20 year career

    Gilles Villeneuve anybody?

    • Prosecutor DarthDecidui
      Prosecutor DarthDecidui 7 months ago

You could say a lot of f1 drivers. Gilles Villeneuve, Ayrton Senna, Ronnie Peterson, Jules Bianchi(#JB17) and many more. Trust me. Senna could’ve easily continued with Williams in 94 and maybe in 95 and 96 and all 3 could’ve easily been world champions if they continued. Villeneuve and Peterson were already in amazing cars and Bianchi had Ferrari up and coming. If Bianchi didn’t lose his life, Leclerc most likely wouldn’t be in Ferrari.
