Idc, I thought these were easy... Both paragraphs had a straighforward topic that was being explained. The students were asked to explain the paragraph with one sentence (by filling in the blank) and the paragraph was even paraphrased at the end. And I personally thought the paragraphs were a bit short as well. We had quarter page long sentences in our exams. Maybe my country just has very hard paragraph questions or it's that because I'm living in a country which speaks a language that isn't my native tongue my language skills have needed to evolve dramatically. The only thing that I personally found to be difficult in these paragraphs was the wording. To solve that problem just try to understand the general jist of what's going on and don't focus too heavily on the meaning of each word because there's so much repetition, you're bound to understand it from some sentence.

AMERICAN SAT´s ARE A JOKE! America classifies intelligence by the score that students have in that test and decide the university for each american student by the score in SAT´S ! someone that had good grades in sat´s is comparable with a 7/8/9th grade student in the majority of the European countries (and countries like South Korea, China or Japan). and i dont think that the knowledge that a 9 grader have is sufficient for enter the university. ivy league universities are excellent schools but all the students that enter arent the smartest minds (of course some students are) because they dont have a basic education system that can improve more their knowledge. i think america is very close in the knowledge that give to their youth, and the biggest part of the american youth dont have any knowledge about what happen in the world (because america is great and bla bla bla). we are people of the world and i think america dont teach that to the youth . A A grade in states is a C (or maybe a C-) in other countries in the world. im not saying this because i am a genius and a excellent student (i dont consider me that way) but i am a guy that can recognized that sat are literally a copy of our 7/8/9 grade(the easiest part of our education system). Sorry for my english (not my mother language) and is just my opinion please be free to give your opinion , i am interested on knowing other point of view and maybe i change mine. i resume my opinion to much and i dont justify totally what i said but i am interested in answer some questions about why i think this and that

In all honesty this are really easy
Spanish being my native tongue I still was able to easily understand both paragraphs and answer correctly in both cases even without pausing the video
What I find completely unfair is this being a part of a probably strictly timed test where you do not really have time to go back and read it multiple times
Another factor I disliked is that the language used is completely absurd, comprehensible but highly innefficient

This is a bit over standard exam questions in Denmark - at least for high schools. It's basically just the type of questions the danish government throws out every 3 or so years to keep students at their feet.
Isn't abstract thinking part of American learning and exams? The more abstract danish students get, the higher their grade will be.

for those who don't understand question number 1 is basically stating that what we see and what we envision can be different this makes the answer clear as in to 1. may be reluctant to think properly (about our surroundings) number 2 is a little tricker but it's not that difficult if you think about it, after reading it twice i can confirm it to be 5. because it is asking for the blank to be filled in on the 'ideal' situation. the former indicates the work and effort put in to attain food while the latter the amount of food attained. therefore, 0 work and the benefit of food is infinity would be 'ideal'. unless this was in english for the korean students, i don't really see it as a difficult question as least since im still in highschool and i can easily comprehend it

I studied in Italy for twelve years, and i honestly think that this test is not that hard. In italy you have to study three languages, Italian, that is divided in three sectors, grammar, anthology and epic, French, of which if you are really good you’ll have to take a test that will certify you as someone that can speak fluent French, and English, of which you’ll have to take a test too, similar to the French one.

    It's only my opinion.
The test subjects other than the language test is ok. But why make the test in English language this hard when the majority of Koreans can't speak and sometimes can't understand English? They should teach them how to understand and speak English. Because I think base on the test questions, they only teach them how to answer those questions rather than to make them use it for the future. The students probably won't remember it.
Maybe my English and vocabulary skills is not that good, probably bad. But at least I can understand and speak basic in English.

So I teach English in Korea at an academy for adults, and I was really surprised when I found out these are the kinds of tests they take IN HIGH SCHOOL, because most of these 20something year olds come to my conversation classes unable to form basic sentences. Something in their English education system is really wrong and has to change. I love Korea but this is one thing I detest and hear Koreans complain about all the time. But no one does anything about it.

Oh man you should check up the German education system...😖 There is no right or wrong! You are just writing pages of analysis and at the end it depends on your soulless teacher and the extrem strict horizon of expectation which is given from the state if you did good or bad... You write everything about the question and the materials that are given but there is always anything missing or wrong - so there is no exam that you can write 100% correctly. The major problem is that the teacher could grade in any way he or she wants and she or he interprets the horizon of expextation. So its very hard to write the "perfect" exam.
