The only downside is the sound level of the internal cooling fan which is a bit loud. I played some background music via my laptop which sort of helped to drown out the fan noise. Otherwise, all of the controls and functions are very intuitive and the unit basically connects itself to my MacBook Pro. Epson makes a wireless connection key for PC users only and not for Mac which is a bit of a bummer so as far as I know, the wireless function is useless if using with a Mac._*

unas pregunta?, Tengo un proyector epson ex3240 el cual al prenderlo da vídeo unos segundo y se apaga, tuve la oportunidad de probar con otro que esta en buen estado y detecte que la falla esta en la tarjeta lógica, seria posible dar solución a esta falla.

Well.. I fixed my ex70. It took 4 hours of figuring it out. These videos are good at showing you how to take the cover off, then i was lost. If this post gets a few comments asking how to do it in English. I will take my projector off the ceiling and do it again. God knows i have already had it completely disassembled enough times. Cheers. (Its easier then you think)

On similar Epson projector models with basically the same iris mechanism, I have had two with main board failures, and one with broken glass in the gears caused by a broken lamp. All the rest I have worked on have been bad motors.
Be extremely careful of the aluminum louvres. They are not attached very well and could be pulled off pretty easily.
other reason is the iris motor have broken, or motor controller at the mainboard not working well but this is rarely happens

Helped me to fix mine.
For those whose aren't turning on after reassembly, try re-seating each of the PCBs (printed circuit boards) for the RGB (Red, Green & Blue) and for the connection to the panel.
It's written on the motherboard.
You may need to push it in a little harder to ensure a secure connection.
If that doesn't work, check to ensure that you have contact with the fail safe that's located right by the bulb (See 15:40)
how does the fail safe work and how do i contact it? my epson hc8100 has no power after i cleaned the cinema filter in it. please help

if the power button not responding, you should check the button itself, if normal i think the trouble is at the mainboard and you should check all level voltages from the power supply, maybe no the control voltage there... i hope this will help u

i think you need to check the mosfet at the balast unit,
+Muhammad Agus Ismail yes I believe so, I lined up the A line arrow with the B and can move both with the gears back and forth. When i placed it inside, it could still move freely with the gear rotation. I think I've had this unit 5+ years. maybe it's time to replace it? I cleaned out dust, and it does turn on now but soon the screen goes black and shuts down with the three red lights flashing on top, then it sounds like the fan is going in overdrive. It got very hot very quickly.

are you sure that the iris unit installed correctly?
+Muhammad Agus Ismail i reassambled, and it turned on but then it turned off again, 3 flashing lights again. its a new light bulb, i cleaned the parts just like this video... any other tips? maybe the temperature gauge is off? :(
