I always thought the slickest way was to stand on the pheasants wings, belly up, grab its legs and pull. Separates it into 2 nice sections. I will have to try this next time. Thanks.

This is exactly how I butcher the barn pigeons I hunt, but I often pluck them out. Occasionally I skin them but a barn pigeon's skin is tougher.

  • I'm that guy you love to hate

although that's a cool way of doing it. Which is new to me that is truthfully a good way at a survival situation. because the way I usually clean the bird is to boil water and pluck the birdclean. or if I'm really lazy that day I just breast in the field. thanks for the new way of doing it

I remember when buying chicken in India, they take the live chickens out of a cage, cut their throats, drop them in boiling water for a split second or so, then remove the feathers. It comes of very quickly afterwards.

Great video. I'm looking forward to learning how to hunt for quail and pheasant in Northern California in 2017 and this video was a great introduction to what I'll need to know to get the culinary benefit of hunting game. Merry Christmas!!
