George Lucas’ success as a director relies on his keen editor’s eye. As the steady hand guiding the Original Trilogy’s ship, he was able to make Star Wars into the most popular franchise of all time. Now the saga is in new hands, but we’ll never forget the many close calls that kept this space opera from being made. Whether it was budgetary concerns, unforeseen problems during production or lagging scenes, many obstacles almost kept these movies from being the successful blockbusters they became. Thankfully, clunkier lines and awkward exchanges were left on the cutting room floor. However, there are still some scenes that, if kept in, might have illuminated the characters waging that interstellar battle between good and evil.
In Episodes IV through VI, Luke gets the most screen-time, but we’re robbed of character building when we miss his hangout at Tosche Station and the completion of his lightsaber. A last minute change of heart by Grand Moff Jerjerrod shows that some Imperials can have a conscience and Padme’s early plans of a Rebellion display that the Republic was more interesting than just an endless trade war debate. Han and Leia were both a bit busier in early edits of The Force Awakens, the Rebel forces were more active in Return of the Jedi, the Wampas were hungrier in Empire Strikes Back, and Force ghosts showed up as early in Star Wars chronology as Revenge of the Sith. Tune in and decide for yourselves whether these scenes would have added more depth to the galaxy far, far away….
    Featuring:

A theory could be that Leia could have been using the force, unintentionally, to see some things from the past, when Padme was still alive.
Yoda tells Luke in ESB: "Through the Force, things you will see. Other places. The future...the past...old friends long gone."

Leia and Luke are terrorists. Not freedom fighters. The Empire brought peace and prosperity to the galaxy while when the galaxy was under the rule of the New Republic it was chaotic and crime was on the rise.

Obviously the green lightsaber should have waited for the Sarlacc as well as where Luke “hid” it.... But they definitely should have shown him tweaking it (not finishing ) before he notices C3P0 shuffling and complaining. Oh...and it should have been YODAs lightsaber..... Crystal switch bitches !!!!!!

I've seen a great many "deleted scene" vids on here but this one truly was correct, had these key scenes been included, they would have made the film a lot better and more meaningful than it was. Perhaps someone with the editing skills and backing will someday soon add these deleted scenes back into the films and release the new extended films anew.

Marcia Lucas and her team did not get enough credit for the first movie. There is a video on RUclip that breaks it down. It is nice to see proof why people get a 'Best Editting' Oscar. It should be taught in film schools today.

@Rob Kinney that anakin thing is actually a thing yes. Maybe it is wanking him when saying he's the chosen one or smth. Or maybe that his fall to the dark side was SOMEHOW the same that Yoda did in the clone wars. At least on the emotional point of view, or a combination of emotional growth and being the chosen one, who knows xD. Or maybe it was the will of the force. Who knows besides the Whils (or however it is written, sry I'm not a native english speaker).

They could have introduced Leia earlier in episode 7.
It might have weakened General Leia's sudden appearance to Han Solo.
They could have had her wearing a mask like the one in Jedi when the bounty hunter sells Chewbacca. It hides her face and modulates her voice.
They could have excused it by having her either unwilling to remove the mask yet because all droids and personnel haven't been vetted yet.
Huh. That's easy. Could have foreshadowed the journey ahead to control the moron
