A quick translation in English. I made some slight transliterations to make the speech smoother. Anyway, enjoy! - Michael
Good evening, everybody. 75 years ago, a 16-year-old girl appeared [on the silver screen]. And her appearance made [widespread] sensation in the movie industry. She is Ms Li Lihua. Now the first movie that I was in was also with her called “Love Eterne”. (Note: some audiences were surprised because this film is so famous) At that time, my scene...my lines of lyrics were: (Jackie sings the lyrics). Because I was handsome with a nice singing voice which made the director liking me a lot, he then contacted me to be in a second film called “Qin Xiangliang”. I played her son. I was the 2nd male lead. She played my mother. Because of this, I’ve come to call her “mother” for more than 50 years. I’m extremely lucky. Today, as of now, I’ve made over 200 films. 54 years in the movie industry. I’m lucky to be in the industry and even more lucky that tonight, I can present the “Lifetime Achievement Award” to the [woman] who played my mother on the silver screen and who is also my godmother in real life. You are forever a superstar in all of our hearts . And also forever a [film] goddess, allowing us to witness together the splendors of a [film] goddess of your time.
