Hello 👋 I wanted to say thank you for everything you do. All the effort you have put into your videos/channel. I love and respect how you deal with negative/ bitter / jealous people. It’s truly wonderful. I think also when you speak that you don’t have a biased view. You come off very reasonable and knowledgeable. I hope this message reaches you in a sea of stupidity and arrogance - which is the internet. I have learned a lot from your channel and I am perusing a career in early childhood. Hopefully I can move to japan as well for that is the goal. Love from Florida 🌻

Sorta happened in kamakura, got the no enter arm ‘X’ but as soon as I used my phrasebook the hostess gladly welcomed myself and about 6 other guys in and sat with us to show us how to prep and eat Okonomiyaki. I was only in Japan for about 3 days so not a ton of experience. I believe it was probably the language barrier vs a group of 7 foreigners.

Best time of my life and I want to move there. Any recommendations were I should go? Kyoto was going to be my first choice it was so beautiful there.

About face masks in Japan: 1. You don't want to get the cold from other people. 2. If you have a cold and you don't want to give it to other people. 3. To prevent hay-fever (cedar trees produce a lot of pollen). Thanks.

This illustrates to me why I am so into Japan and it's culture. My natural personality matches it pretty well despite my being an American. Aimai is something I know I've embodied a lot in my life out of a feeling that I need to be respectful despite knowing that I'm being too ambiguous. I also relate to the shirt button thing too.

I think it's ridiculous that they can't just give clear directives on some things. I would tend to interpret those indirect comments as passive aggressive, like your mom trying to make you feel guilty about something until you do what she wants.

Accidentally stumbled onto your videos and just can't stop watching. 😩😂 The funny thing is I don't even really care about Japan even the slightest 😅 I just find you massively attractive. 😻 The cheekiness, your funny facial expressions , the British accent ❤️🤤... it's all definitely working for me. I wonder... 🤔 are all the girls, watching your videos, just drooling after you? 🤔 I feel like I'm in a win-win-win situation watching you: 1) you're funny and light up the mood 2) great to look at 😉🤤👌 3) I learn something new and feel like a more intelligent and a better person every time I watch a video of yours. So ... I guess ...(are you single? Planning on coming to Estonia anytime soon? 🤔😉😂😁) thanks for being pretty to look at and educational at the same time. 😉😁☺️❤️😘

Honestly once you become conversationally fluent in a language it's pretty easy to learn the rest, as you now have a contextual baseline to use. That being said, languages that tend to have a word for every concept can take considerably longer to learn

I have only been in Japan two weeks and I ran into "Sorry, Japanese only" quite a few times. I also saw another variant that said "Only people who can speak Japanese", which I reckon supports Chris's explanation about some of them being nervous about communicating with foreigners. Other reasons I thought of may be that I sometimes was a bit drunk already or that I was doing a tour mostly of SE Asia and my attire would be seen as normal in the warmer countries but in Japan may not have been considered so classy, specifically singlets haha
