«If we had confidence...that the president clearly did not commit obstruction of justice, we would so state» LOLOLOL ok lemme get this straight:
Essentially Mueller is saying «the president may not have committed obstruction of justice but then again he may, we just don't have the proof» ----you numbnuts following here?
As a prosecutor you are asked to CHARGE if PROOF is found, otherwise you STFU along these lines «furthermore we lacked evidence to charge X for obstruction of justice»
That 1st quote (which can easily fit anyone NOT charge of a crime by a prosecutor) is only meant to be glued on Trump as smear just to feed fakeNews a desperately needed narrative to grab on to...Pathetic
The Dems will now feel what boomerang means

I wonder if they are holding back on charges until he's out of office so that he can't pardon himself.

    • Player Review
      Player Review 6 days ago

The Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) has already determined that the POTUS can't pardon themselves, even when it does not involve impeachment. The US Constitution prevents this from happening; See: "a provision of Article II, Section 3 that “he shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed” and the provision of Article II, Section 1 that “executive power shall be vested in a President.”" Basically, the President is bound by oath to execute laws (presidential pardons are an act of executing laws, though could not pardon oneself as the executive power is incompatible, especially as it would not represent laws being "faithfully" executed.
These are a reflection of Philip Bobbitt's explanation to help the public realize that the POTUS cannot self pardon. “Impeachment: A Handbook,” by Charles L. Black, Jr. and Philip Bobbitt. Philip Bobbitt is the Herbert Wechsler Professor of Jurisprudence and Director of the Center on National Security at Columbia Law School and Distinguished Senior Lecturer at the University of Texas. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences and a former trustee of Princeton University. He has served in all three branches of government, during seven administrations, most recently as a member of the External Advisory Board of the CIA. Bobbitt's college student years were at Princeton University, Yale Law School and University of Oxford.

+jrgomeznyc1962 Vague claims and nonsensical accusations don't make for a sound argument, and certainly don't carry much persuasive power.

Investigating a political opponent for avenues of attack is par the course for politics these days; the very dossier you're complaining about was originally commissioned by Republicans. The fact of the matter was that some of the allegations were credible enough for Obama administration officials, not to mention various intelligence agencies and law enforcement branches to take them seriously . That's far from an abuse of power.

The truth is coming out.. Not as fast as I wished but it IS coming.
All I ask is don't let your hatred for Trump pursuade your decision too quickly it IS NOT that I personally think Trump is the best president in the world it's about how they abused their power to take him down.. Because if they get away with doing it to him and all Trump haters consign their actions who's going to look out for you when they abuse their power on every regular citizen... So please just question everything and take the time to investigate what you hear on the News.. The. Truth is available example: Google: " Susan rice email to herself then read what it said covering up for Obama

The Russians tried to interfere with the US election. How is this a surprise? They have been trying to interfere with US elections since the beginning of the cold war. In this case they tried to cause chaos by supporting both sides.
Trump didn't collude with the Russians and probably wanted to stop the witch hunt as fast as possible because it was interfering with his presidency. His advisors said there was nothing that could be done in this regard. Not a big deal. Anyone in Trump's position would have done the same. This was not obstruction.
The fact the media tries to make something out of this only shows how desperate they are.

    • Stephen2462
      Stephen2462 3 days ago

+SociallyTriggered Lol no, the previous Presidents mostly just ignored Un unless he did something like a nuclear test or kidnapped another US Citizen. Trump was willing to meet him because he either only cared about looking good, or was simply too stupid to understand what was going on.
Gonna put aside my disagreements regarding your assessments of previous Presidents.
To put it simply, Trump is incompetent, an asshole, and blatantly corrupt. Going into specific reasons and examples would take longer then I feel like spending on this post. And if you're still in denial about it this far into his Presidency, then you're probably too biased for me to care about trying anyways.
Fighting for free speech? What a load of bogus. All he does in that regard is whine about media outlets that don't wank him off.
It's not like I read/listen to everything said about Trump, but for the most part, yes, assuming that by "the media" you mean "any and every outlet that doesn't one-sidedly wank Trump."

    • SociallyTriggered
      SociallyTriggered 3 days ago

+Stephen2462 First sitting president to meet with North Korea and other presidents caved under North Korea's demands, which only helped them build better weapons.
You say it "it's because Trump is an objectively terrible president. " Why? Obama was pretty bad, though he was more likeable as a person. Clinton was good president but even worse than Trump when it came to women. Kennedy was so so but started wars. What standard are you judging Trump by. He has been good for the US and he is fighting for free speech, when other governments seem more and more wanting to control it. So why do you think Trump is so bad? You believe the media?

    • Stephen2462
      Stephen2462 3 days ago

      +SociallyTriggered - Uh huh >.>
      - No, he's not the first President to meet with the North Korean leader. He's the first president to do so in a while, because previous Presidents stopped when it became obvious that the meetings accomplished nothing and Un was just using them as propaganda fodder.
      - The pharmaceutical costs thing looks like it has pros and cons. Will need to do more research on that.
      - In the primaries maybe. The Republican party has been in lock step with him since them. To the point of refusing to hold him accountable for pretty much any of his numerous gaffes and fuckups, if only because doing so would hurt their own political bottom line.
      - That's not because "all the news agencies are under the control of the Democrats"; it's because Trump is an objectively terrible president. Unfortunately, Fox News has the biggest market share of any individual outlet, and the propaganda they've been churning out for decades is paying dividends. Your 90% statistic is a blatant exaggeration.
      - Trump making a speech about it doesn't mean he actively contributed to it. I admit, it's highly unusual that Republicans support such a bill, considering they're generally in the pocket of private prison lobbyists, but no. His biggest contribution to the bill is simply that he didn't try to torpedo it.

    • SociallyTriggered
      SociallyTriggered 3 days ago

+Stephen2462- Check the stats via labor board's stats. You'll see I'm correct.
      - Trump was first President to meet with the North Korean leader and helped to set stage for the two Korean leaders to meet. South Korea's leader is calling for Trump to receive Nobel peace prize. My family is half Korean so I know a lot about how Trump has really helped in Korea.
      - The pharmaceutical cost reduction comes from reducing regulations that makes it easier for new drugs to get to market.
      - Trump is an outsider and had opposition from his own party as well. McCain tried to help get him impeached.
      - The media is pretty much 90% in the Democrats control and only Fox sides with Trump. Really there should be a non-partisan news agency but that is too much to expect nowadays.
      - On prison reform see globalnews.ca/news/5120243/trump-criminal-justice-reform/
It shows Trump was very involved.

    • Stephen2462
      Stephen2462 4 days ago

+SociallyTriggered Lol, so many lies in a single post. Let's see here...
      - Trump has nothing to do with the push for prison reform. That's coming from specific individuals in Congress.
      - Nothing he's done has brought Korea closer to peace. All he did was have a couple of glorified photo-ops with Un.
      - He had nothing to do with crushing ISIS.
      - His reduction of environmental regulations has done the opposite of help making oceans cleaner.
      - First I've heard of him helping reduce pharmaceutical costs. You're going to need to cite a source for that one.
      - "Increased worker engagement rates" and "increased wages" also sounds like it was made up out of whole cloth.
      - "despite having both the media and government working against him." Lol no. The Conservative propaganda machine has been churning on overtime for him. As for the government, he controls the executive branch, and has majorities in the senate, and Supreme Court. He also had the house before the 2018 election, in which Republicans got voted out. If anything, it's hilarious how little he accomplished despite having so much control.

+beowulfsbane And more totally off topic and idiotic talking points doubtlessly taken from a conservative commentator who told you what to think.
First, Hitler was not a socialist. He paid lip service to the ideology, but his actions were never really influenced it. He used the label to help build his following, then basically killed off any Socialists that had power in his party during the Night of Long Knives.
"The left is about big government and the right is about small government." Nope. Both the left and right have opinions about what the government should and shouldn't be involved in. Republicans generally want the government to expand/regulate over things like abortion, immigration, and the military, while the left is more interested in social services and enviromentalism.
Neither do we, we just have the sense to know that it's better then nothing in many cases. Letting corporations regulate themselves, for example, is a terrible idea despite Repulbicans being all over it.
Getting kicked off of Facebook because you were an asshole isn't shutting down free speech, that's just the free market at work. Pretty hilarious that Conservatives are only complaining about it now that they're getting bitten in the butt by it.

+beowulfsbane More sweeping generalizations and baseless insults, some nonsensical claims presumably fed to you by conservative commentators, yadda yadda yadaa.
Wrong again. Fascism is a form of radical, right-wing, authoritarian ultranationalism, characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition, and strong regimentation of society and of the economy. Copy/pasted right from the wikipedia page. Your mischaracterization of the left only vaguely lines up with it's actual definition.
Of course Trump being President bothers a lot of people. He's incompetent, he's blatantly corrupt, and he's an asshole. The fact he was even considered a serious candidate for the position, let alone that he actually won the election, is a major stain on the U.S.'s honor and reputation.
Wrong definition of grifter, something you probably could have figured out on your own if you'd applied any critical thinking. Or just looked at the first thing to come up in a google search.
Aaaand more baseless insults. And some random melodramatic nonsense.

+Stephen2462 attacking somebodies kids is not ok rather than confront the person you attack their kids because you know it will also hurt the adult
The left dont want to debate they imprison the minds of who ever they can and can't allow Republicans to debate and discuss Republican/conservative ideas because they might wake up
Attacking people in their private is something Democrats are doing and no it's not ok ... Tucker invites people to his show but cowards would rather harass him and his family than go on the show
Fascist shut down speach and only allow one side to be heard and only the left and Democrats do that and ANTIFA enforces that
It seems as though President Trump being President of the United states bothers alot of people
Grifter: a person who operates a side show at a circus, fair, etc., especially a gambling attraction
If President Trump or all , some or most Republicans/conservatives are grifters the Democrats are the attraction......
No apologies for any wrong doing
Not calling out or denouncing anti-semitism , racists , double standards , ANTIFA and other groups
If you say none of that exists or is wrong or is not true ......... I am not losing a debate or argument........ I am arguing with denial itself
The truth will come out one day and Democrats and Republicans and those in the middle will have to answer for what they did wrong as individuals
And it's a good thing the judge will be fair , just and merciful.

+beowulfsbane So you're more interested in off-topic ranting, lovely. I assume then that you acknowledge that you've essentially lost the argument that this conversation was initially about?
Not quite. What I think is that the right-wing political movement has been highjacked by a nationalist movement led largely by trolls and grifters. And any good intentions are being subverted up by the conmen and the growing political divide.
Instead they're using their current political power to screw people over a bit less directly, pushing a divisive and regressive social agenda instead of something productive, and grifting their voter base for all they're worth.
MLK was also perceived as a terrorist, and subjected to a lot of the same arguments, accusations, and insults Conservatives like to make today. Hindsight is 20/20 I guess.
Candace Owens is a Conservative commentator lol. She makes her living selling you a narrative you're clearly all too eager to gobble up.

When you are elected as President of the United States that should be an office that everyone that is an American respects, but we know that John Oliver is not an American. Anyone that listens to him can see he knows the truth but wants to bend it in away that is disrespectful of our country and people.

People that actually read the report and saw the hearings will know that commie cunt John Oliver is trying to deceive. And isn't it funny - Bill Clinton meets with Loretta Lynch days before Hillary Clinton is exempted from US law and this schmuck doesn't even DARE to consider this as obstruction of justice. He has nothing to say about bleach-bitting subpoenaed material from hard-drives either.

If you don't think that John Oliver would sell your children off as body-parts then God help any children reliant on your protection. John Oliver is a sellout - he has traded the freedoms of future generations for a handful of silver and I look forward to seeing the traitorous bastard hang from a lamp-post.

John, if someone were attempting to kill a bear, I'd want someone to act against it. If trump's advisors disobeyed his orders that would obstruct justice, that's great. The advisors are there to contain his worst impulses.

+Stephen2462 Well, currently any proxy wars are *very* proxy. It's not like it's been during the Cold War. But they did meddle in and influence the US election, which is pretty bad... I don't know. Hostile foreign power seems *way* too aggressive to me. Rival power fits much better.

    • Stephen2462
      Stephen2462 12 days ago

+Robert SanderThank you for the history lesson. Moving on, I don't see why we should downplay their attempts to meddle in and influence the US government. Or the proxy wars we've been fighting. While nobody wants to get into an all-out conflict, I for one am happy to keep them at arm's length.

    • Robert Sander
      Robert Sander 13 days ago

+Stephen2462 Yes, they did stop being a geopolitical rival. Under Jelzin, Russia cooperated quite closely with the US. Then they did become a rival again, but "rival" is very different from "hostile foreign power"! And yes, ever since the annexation of Crimea, tensions with Russia have been high again, but rhetoric like this won't help bring them down. At best you could say Putin would be a hostile foreign leader, though even that... You realize the US was in no official alliance with Ukraine whatsoever, yes?

+Joshua Moyer I don't understand what that has to do with your previous comment, but to put it simply, because of Trump. With such a terrible President at the helm, a lot of people are worried about the state of the government and country as a whole, and are thus paying more attention to politics and the news. So ironically, in spite of his disdain for free speech, Trump has actually been the best salesmen the journalism industry could have asked for.

Putting aside your hilarious delusion that Trump is going to be re-elected, he's actually been great for the media. While he's done everything he can to instill a cult-like rejection of any news that he doesn't like amongst his followers, his blatantly corrupt, incompetent, and sociopath actions have caused a lot of people to pay more attention to politics, and thus to journalists, comedians, bloggers etc. who report and discuss politics.

I wonder, why do ppl rally behind Trump - no politician is pure, but few are that shady and have that unlikable persona as him.
And I even worried - if Trump goes away with this (since he gathered "his" people around him and put them into positions where they might return a favor - justice) can you even trust in any/your government anymore?
Where justice care for the powerful and rich, surround themselves with alike and rule above the sheep like a the shepherds dog and not the shepherd. At that point, I'd suggest you sharpen your pitchforks and start a which hunt - but not like one that Trump accuses.
