Sorry but why were you traveling on an airplane with 2 small kids? It is torment to them and should be avoided.

When I traveled either with Greyhound or a Airline, I would take some comic books with me. I should say this was before all the current electronic stuff was around (no smartphone or any mobile phone, no handheld gaming devices ((this was in the 70's)). You would always have kids on a bus or airline. Many parents did not think of bringing something for the kids to do while traveling. Thus why I carried comicbooks with me. Even if they was too young to read, they was able to look at the pictures. The kids always quieted down until the next stop. If the mother was continuing on somewhere else, they would get stuff for the child to do at the bus terminal or airport shops. I had more than one parent tell me that they didn't even think of bringing anything for the kids to do with them and thanked me for letting the kids read/look at the comics.

I had the same thing and actually fell asleep with the 5 month old in my arms. Everyone was laughing at us including the mother who had the three year old.

Small acts of kindness is how we will begin to get together, not fighting over silly politics sending love and prayers to all out there, whatever your beliefs. xx

She ruins the whole story because she thinks a gawd had something to do with it. Fairy tales, it was the kindness of a man, happens zillions of times a day. No myths needed.

All good things come from above, from the Giver of all good. May he help you to realize what we have to be grateful for. He wakes you up every morning and keeps you alive. Don't take that for granted.

Some days I wonder what has happened to the human race to make us so mean to each other. But then I see an act of compassion or love from one person to another, or someone going out of their way to help the elderly or the afflicted amongst us. I am convinced, though we see a lot of negative things happening around us, that most human beings are basically good and giving and ready to help others in any situation. I have to believe that. I like to think that the reason we don't know about the majority of these gentle human beings is because they're humble and always "I just wanted to be of help". That's the thing about we human beings...most of us - *the majority of us* care deeply about others, whether we know them or not. It makes me really sad when I see people who have isolated themselves or feel like they're not good enough or feel that no one could love them. So kudos to this gentle and giving human being on a plane who stepped in of his own accord and made giggles instead of tears...kind of like when Jesus made water into wine, but no more miraculous than those who give of themselves without wanting anything more than to help, to love, and to give comfort to others.

Absolutely. 3 yrs ago, I sat next to a young couple with a 5-month-old baby. When the baby started to fuss, the mom was nervous and apologized for the little guy who fussed. I asked if I could hold him, and she smiled and said: "I don't mean this in a wrong way, but he isn't used to white people." (It was a black couple with their son)....I smiled and said "That's fine, but if he would let me, I wouldn't mind holding him>"....and suddenly the little guy smiled a toothless smile and reached out for me to pick him up!!! I smiled and took him from his mom and played and talked to him for awhile while his mom got his bottle ready for him. He actually didn't want to go to her, so I took his bottle and fed him. It was so nice to have a baby in my arms again. I didn't get the couple's name but I really enjoyed my 2-hour flight from Orlando to Michigan.....That little guy made my day!
