I suspect these two divers were the first to find the boys because they were told that the people trapped in the cave were ladyboys

Was wondering how the British divers found them...did they take a leap of faith in searching for them? ....or they already knew they boys where in there? Just wondering.....from my understanding it's a leap of faith....and was wondering before all preparation how did the British divers have enough oxygen get in and the first day of discovery.... hopefully someone can explain interested to know...

When all the thanks and justified praise for the rescuers has been made, isn’t it worth asking why the hell a dozen 11-16 year old boy’s, some of whom can’t even swim, were taken 5km into a cave through narrow, dark passages during the monsoon season?

How to get those kids back to their families fast:
    Build a mini submarine,a small capsule (a suppository) with Oxygen bottle inside, exhaust valve, attach two rings at EACH end,and 4 km ROPES to the rings,one to the outside,one stays inside the cave; put 1 kid at a time inside the capsule (sedate him,if need be),have divers PULL the one rope all the way to the outside; then people will gently start pulling the capsule out,divers by it´s side,carrying it on foot on the dry sections,floating it on the water sections;

I am not easily reduced to tears. But, that child's voice at the start saying 'Thank You' got me. 10 Days in complete darkness ... some of them must have resigned themselves to the fact that this would be the end ... then, like a dream, a faint glimmer of light in the water in front of them, then the divers voice. Suddenly, HOPE! ... Now please get them out safely :-)

The boy was in pretty good spirit. The first question they ask rescue team was not about being brought "back". They actually ask about their "backpack"/"bag" that they left in other section of the cave (they still worried about their belonging LOL). Amazing how good spirit they were after all they have been through.

*Could you pass this on to the thai authorities*
I was thinking about using 24" or bigger corrugated PVC flexible pipe for the flooded areas, they could just crawl out maybe air pump from underneath if needed

    • John sweda
      John sweda 10 months ago

Barnaby Keogh don't get what you're saying! the tunnel collapse, they widen the tunnel? The water pressure could cause a tunnel to collapse!? I don't know what you mean what makes the tunnel collapse? why should it make the tunnel collapse it is rock. And it wouldn't be much effort to carry some pipe down the tunnel and assemble it in situ? Oil worker divers do this sort of thing all the time it's a bread and butter. Pumping air is not an issue using 1 or 2 inch flexible hose pump from the surface.

    • Barnaby K
      Barnaby K 10 months ago

You also mention pumping air from below the pipes. How do you intend to get large machinery down narrow tunnels fully working?

    • Barnaby K
      Barnaby K 10 months ago

John sweda I don’t think you get my point. I am a qualified scuba diver and I’m telling you now, it will not work. The divers had to widen the tunnels at points, even squeezing through gaps. Not to mention the water pressure would cause the tunnel to cave in. It is incredibly dangerous for the cave divers to do such things as visibility is poor. If the cave tunnels collapse as well, you risk adding another obstacle

    • Barnaby K
      Barnaby K 10 months ago

John sweda good idea, but it won’t work. They’d have to carry all this pipe and set it up, it would be a waste of time and resources. It is way too risky. Waiting for the water to lower/teaching them to dive is a lot safer

    • John sweda
      John sweda 10 months ago

Barnaby Keogh the divers will get it through the tunnels the water will suspend it so it won't be heavy more the other way round you can get connectors what are short as well and bends don't see an issue there installing it.

hugemagoo on first contact it was only the two British divers, once they confirmed numbers and level of health they have left and alerted the Thai seals.
After talking to you I actually went and looked up the two British divers. They are both globally recognised as the best cave rescue divers on the planet and the Thai government asked for them by name.

    • hugemagoo
      hugemagoo 10 months ago

so are you saying in this specific video there were thai divers offscreen? i know that thai divers eventually came (ive seen the new video that has since come out), but specifically at first contact, it appears there were only 2 british divers. i find that a bit strange is all, but are you saying there are thai navy people there as well we just dont see or hear them?

scaler2007 right. So the Thai navy doesnt have divers or something? Just curious as to why the British are the first on the scene, when it's not even their country, that's all. But it's good the world are helping.

Mostly Fake news of BBC. About the USA as well: Are we all ignoring the fact that the Obama administration was also separating children from their parents, while widespread abuse of detained migrants under previous administrations was reported by the ACLU and the University of Arizona? (Good that Trump quickly fixed this with a new law!)
Some facts, no fake: One woman interviewed in 2014 was detained for nearly a month in CADC while she was six months pregnant. She was shackled during transport to and from the facility. At the facility, she was denied monitoring or treatment for an ovarian cyst that posed a risk to herself and the fetus, and received no response to her requests for prenatal vitamins or extra padding for her bed.
Another woman interviewed was separated from her breastfeeding baby daughter, who was less than two months old, while she was detained in Eloy for two weeks.
Among those findings are that women did not receive adequate medical or mental health care, were often mixed together with women serving criminal sentences, and were often transferred from faraway states. In most cases, researchers found that women were separated from at least one child -
Also overlooked is the fact that 80% of children entering the United States are separated from their parents when they're shoved across the border with a human trafficker, and that migrants can seek asylum in the United States through one of the several U.S. consulates in Mexico.

I am very happy that they finally found them all alive and relatively healthy and no one of them is seriously injured. Sometimes international world news can be very good news. Now they have enough food, warm clothes, light sources, medicines and medical aid, clean water and other drinks and possibly soon even phone and video connection to their family members to survive there with the help of the Thai and international special forces´ divers, but it will be very difficult and many ways challenging rescue operation, if they want to get them out of the cave network safely when it is flooding because continuing heavy rains, because the boys and their quite young man football coach can´t even swim and they have not any kind of diving experience either. It is very difficult, possibly impossible, work to try to teach the boys and their coach to dive in very dangerous and difficult cave network conditions with the special forces´ professional divers. The rescue operation can possibly take weeks even months if the cave network doesn´t stop flooding, but surely they all will survive, one way or another, and now the special forces´ divers are taking care of them there. Greetings from Northern Europe, Finland.
