      Could you try drilling some holes at the base of the handle of the blue diamond? It's usually the only thing that makes a handle cool touch, and it seems like a cool experiment.

      My blue diamond is no longer non stick after a few uses. Even being careful not to use abrasive material to clean it... It cooks good but everything sticks to it. Esp eggs

      @Raine Gagliardo have you found a better pan? I like cast iron but I cannot use it on my glass stove top.

    2 things you can do to DRAMATICALLY extend the life of your non stick cookware and both are rules you violated in the video :-)

    First NEVER use the green scrub pads. get the blue non scratch pads. green ones will destroy the non stick over time.

    Second never clean while hot. let the pan cool down a bit then clean with hot soapy water and the blue pad.
    MY copper pan held up for over 2 years nearly perfectly till I let my sis try cooking something in it. our stove has a hyper mode where it can get REALLY hot she mistakenly used that. got so freaking hot melted the eggs into the pan and warped it. Nothing I did could get it out. binned it. she won't use one again till I train her how to use them :-) hehe

    All 3 of these products are basically the same product and I own all 3 and a cheap Faber Ware copper top non-stick frying pan that does the exact same stuff as the Red Copper, Blue Diamond, and Granite Rock without struggle. So if you want these features just buy the Faber Ware one because it is like $12 and it does everything that the other pans can do.

    Looks like the copper one did the best overall. Might have to pick one up next time I think about it. The diamond one performed poorly from the looks of it. The granite rock one was so-so from the looks of it.

    I would love to give that copper one a try. Besides just looking sic, it handled the tests with flying colors. However, like some people are saying, after an amount of time (usually not very long) the pan not only doesn't perform properly, but becomes worse than just a regular pan. What's more, there have been consumer reports on non-stick pans, specifically Teflon, that leeches it's coating into/onto your food. After reading about this I'm leery about buying/using Any pan with a "non-stick" coating. I will always be wondering about when the pan is no longer behaving like a non-stick pan, what happened to the coating?! Did it end up in my stomach? Unfortunately, heat+metal you're always going to have trouble creating a lasting non-stick surface. Whoever comes up with the next "space age polymer" (lol) that not only beats out Teflon, but actually stands up and holds up to heat indefinitely, is not only a genius, but it's going to Bank.

    I like Red Copper because it has copper which is good for human bodies especially those with arthritis. Works for me. Good video btw.

    Do any of these pans not have a "moat" around the edge? They all seem to have this, and it means you need to waste a ton of oil. If you don't use enough oil to fill the moat, the center goes dry and the food burns. Is the "moat" a requirement of the manufacturing process, or some misguided attempt to give us less oily food?

    I think I will just stick with my stainless steel cookware I use right now. Being limited to no more than medium heat on most non stick pans, sucks. There are times you need ripping heat to quickly sear something like a beef roast you are then cooking in a crock pot. And being able to then deglaze that same pan and use the flavor stuck to the pan, and later make a beautiful brick roux for gravy in the exact, same, pan...... These are things that just do not work so well in non stick. Yeah yeah, its easier to cook things like eggs, I will give you that, non stick can be great for certain things..... But with just a tiny bit of practice, you can make perfect eggs in stainless steel or cast iron too. And, cast iron is still the king for me.

    Yeah I feel you on that "Blue Diamond" pan the first time I used it I grabbed the handle and damn near dropped my food on the floor because the handle was so damn hot and it was on low heat.

    The Red Copper failed after a week of light use, Granite Rock still going but OK & I find it's shallow, like the The Red Copper pan. They're website doesn't let you know if the order was registered so I wound up with 2 orders. The outside doesn't clean up well if you over spill (aided by it's shallow sides). Came with the Single Egg Pan with it's small size is useless for me. My sister finds the small pan fine for making crepes for Manicotti. The best pan I have is Calphalon. Expensive, however I got 2 pans, a 10" & a 12". For me, 2 more useful sizes & they perform beautifully! Both pans are also deeper.

    They work real well for about half a year before they lose their nonstick and become a normal pan that is green.
