I still have my V2010 for my main rig, its clearly outdated feature wise, and despite being heavily modified, it's sheer size -these days I don't need many hdd's- kinda troubles me .. but recently started thinking that instead of getting rid of it for a smaller and more modern case make the side panel tempered glass, esentially keep a tiny aluminum frame for the side just to grab the glass. I think this case is such a Minimalist classic.

That fan connection should be standardized to cut down on wire waste.
Also ditching my H500 in 2020 for Lian Li I think.

First PC case I wanted back in the day was the Antec Performance ii. They where painted with automotive paint and super sturdy, it was the PC I remember Alienware used for most there PC's. Then.. I saw Lian-Li cases and was blown away by the precise engineering and then that was the only case I wanted.
I'm a cheap bastard so I got a Silverstone case with just aluminum on the front panel ;-) Then one day at Micro Center they had an open box of a Lian Li case (PC-7HWX) that wasn't molested at all, just broke the seal.. for $60!! At the time (7-8 years ago) you never saw them under $120. Either way, someone fugged up pricing and it worked for me, still have the case for my main rig. Lots of mods and custom designed 3D printed crap on it. Thinking of removing the optical drives and adding another 140mm Noctua.

Ah, Lian Li. As I've said on other Lian Li videos, they need to fix the IO location on the O11 Mini. IO does not belong at the bottom, I don't want to reach to the floor to plug in a flash drive. IO belongs on the top where it's easily accessible.

I love Lian Li,own several of their cases going back to 2003,but last few years they are very hard to buy. Wake me up when you can BUY them, you know? When they are Actually IN STOCK?? I build for others. I would take 10 or 15 Lancool 315s right now. Problem? Newegg dot com/ca will only order 50 or a hundred each, which sell out FAST.Then Greg,it may be MONTHS b4 they restock,IF.AT.ALL.If Ever actually.. Fact. Sad,but true.

Love the LL Lancool case. I'm old enough to remember the time where there were quite a few cases with removable motherboard trays. Thought they'd gone the way of the Dodo bird but this is now the second or third case I've seen with this feature in the last two months. It really can make a difference when building or upgrading a PC. Attaching it ti the back panel is even more interesting since it allows the installation of cards the the M/B IO plate outside the case. Bravo Liam Li!

I have two PC cases with a removable motherboard tray, TJ11 and a STH10. I've only used the feature once or twice. It is makes it easier to install components but you can also tilt the PC case on its side to install a motherboard. Too bad I just got a O11 dynamic. The mini looks pretty cool.

How does the slide out Motherboard tray/top rad area work with the front io? do the wires stay with the tray and then there's some form of contact pin/socket config to make it so you don't pull your cables out?

However, Lian Li please tell me you have these available in 140mm fans, so I can have 2X 140mm fans at the front of my case.

I have an Evolv X and I'm thinking of upgrading to the O11 XL, because the Evolv X is like a furnace when there are two 360mm radiators installed in it. Almost no airflow. RAM gets to ~55*C while gaming.

I adore the lack of cables and magnetic connection for those case fans...

    • Blahorga Slisk
      Blahorga Slisk 2 months ago

Don't think they use a magnetic connection. Everyone I've seen handling them slide them together as if they are locking into each other mechanically. Same with the drop cable you attach to the first fan. It would also make sense as it would just be a relatively simple modification to the fan frame. Besides having them attach using magnets wouldn't add much in the way of functionality.

    • Hunter Johnston
      Hunter Johnston 2 months ago

Dustin Gangi yeah it will make it soooo much easier to install in cases as there will be only 1 or 2 fan cables to plug in, and there won’t be a need for fan hubs

How? The case is barely compatible with ATX. Your cooling options are severely limited with ATX motherboards. Might as well just get a proper case.
