The link for the printables is showing the 3D version where is the 2D one to print out? Thanks

Автор Wesley Henderson ( назад)
So I've made this, but for some reason the nylon pulleys don't actually fit onto the copper pipe... like they hit each other before the opening can get small enough to slide onto the end of the copper pipe. Did you put the wrong size of the pulleys in the link or is there something wrong with the drawings that were uploaded?

Автор rc-wingman ( назад)
great video thanks! One thing to improve It should not be shiny because you can see your rig easier on reflections. thats why all video on photo gear is mainly black.

Автор Kyle Lemon ( назад)
Thank you! I just made one based on your design and added a dc motor, timing belt, and pwm control - this rig is amazing!

What camera is it ? 📷

great vid. Parts list?

Автор Jarvis0425 ( назад)
Does anyone know the size of pulley wheel used for the slider that goes underneath for smoother sliding? (For the rope) Also the length of the screws and bolts? Thanks in advance! :)

Автор Gravity Meditation ( назад)
One question about your records.
The footage at 0:30 with the trees, it looks like the camera is also spinning around its own axis, how did you do that?

Автор Gravity Meditation ( назад)
Your works and presentation is outstanding! Thank you.

Excellent DIY video, one of the best I have seen!
I need a heavy duty slider for my Sony NEX 50EA Camcorder and this video has given me some ideas to make my own to construct something using larger diameter tubing and alloy plating. Thank you so much DIY Perks - going to spend a little time researching the materials needed and then construct the slider in my workshop!

Автор John Chapman ( назад)
so you put list of parts , but you can't get pulley wheels in uk twat

Автор Dragan Bakema ( назад)

Автор PlayPro Studios ( назад)
This is by far the best step by step DIY for such a daunting (for me) task and the conversions are realistically accurate with metrics where I come from. I just liked and subbed! Thanks big time!

Автор Shaun Easterbrook ( назад)
Curious to know why you went with copper piping over aluminium. Is it due to the lower cost of copper? As I am thinking of going aluminium with this design to save weight (although very minuscule), but every gram counts if you're taking the rig hiking etc.

Автор MangaungMetro Tv ( назад)
can you please send us templates of the mdf for sizing slights

Absolutely brilliant project... George from Nairobi Kenya

Amazing, Amazing, Amazing!!!!! Thanks for this!!!

Автор Ray Hayden ( назад)
Simply an excellent device, and your skills on the end shots was indeed noted! Excellent project, great skills, wonderful video.

Автор Kyle Lemon ( назад)
Thank you for the tutorial! I just built one based off your video. I used the bearing, pulley wheels, copper pipes, and some wood. It is very smooth!! I am currently learning about motors and wiring to motorize the thing as well. It ended up costing about the same prices you mentioned. Thanks again.

Автор jake ( назад)
Am I the only one who is watch but don't have the time and material to build this .......?

Автор Marco Cavassa ( назад)
this is amazing!!

Автор Jorge Martinez ( назад)
Nah, my $75 Neewer 24" slider performs the same.

Автор sjaz556 ( назад)
Excellent tutorial and beautiful shots afterword, thanks!

Автор legrosx ( назад)
Brilliant design Matt! I took inspiration from yours to build my own (motorised slider). Instead of copper pipes like suggested, I used IKEA RACKA curtain rods. They are stiffer, lighter, already painted, cheaper than copper pipes and they perfectly fit with the U groove pulleys

Автор TheHutch ( назад)
Awesome ! Well done.

Автор Mazen Mustafa ( назад)
How did you prop up the slider?

Автор David Tilbury ( назад)
Amazing video, Thank You !

Автор Ace Videos ( назад)

Hello, just want to ask what camera did you use in the cinematic video at the end? Many thanks!

Автор Julie ( назад)
HELLO! I''m trying to make your slider but I have some difficulty with the rollers: the link that you put in the description doesn't ship in France! And I don't find them anywhere! Can you please help me? Thanks!

Автор Ali Goren ( назад)

Автор Lucjan Toton ( назад)
This tutorial is amazing. Problem is 60fps in youtube. I don't like that super smooth effect when there is 60 frames per second and for the big resolution there is no option to choose more cinematic 30fps or even less. But this is just technical detail. Keep up the good work men!

if you're in the UK you can buy these instead of copper pipes, much cheaper and already lacquered http://www.toolstation.com/shop/p50469?table=no

Rollers also available via ali express. I secured the rollers with serrated washers. You can't tighten the bolts from the rollers too much because then the bearings won't function properly. One other thing: when you've drilled the holes through the pipes (I used central heating pipes which are 50% cheaper than copperpipes) turn the pipe 180 degrees. The holes on the strait line should be 4 mm. Chances are the second holes aren't exactly in line, it's hard to drill exactly straight down. The bigger holes, where the screwheads go through, are less important regarding a straight line. I hope this is clear enough without a video or picture. One last remark: I don't think the roller for the counterweight in this video will last long because of the weight pulling on it and it's mounted in thin mdf. I suggest glueing some extra wood or mdf to make that part a bit thicker.
I use hammerrite (metalpaint) which is very durable and waterresistant.

Автор Lantacyt Sirdrigar ( назад)
Your DIY projects are incredible, very usefull and simple that even without many experience everyone can make them.
What about building a camera jib / camera crane which can rotate and tilt, it will be awesome! Maybe one that is equipped with electric motors that you can control from sth like a console? O_o :D I'm sure that you could make it very easy :D

This looked like the best tutorial for making a slider on YouTube. I've spent several hours trying to make this and I honestly have to say this tutorial is lacking so much.

1. The copper pipe alone was about twice as much as he said the entire project would be. (I shopped several stores).
2. The way all of the required items are 'listed' is confusing and i had to watch the video several times rewinding multiple times each pass to build my shopping list. Even after all of that I've spent 3 trips to the store.
3. Overly complex. The part about cutting the curves is made to seem very simple but is far from that. Plus, if you just round the edges on your end/middle pieces it will still look professional.
4. Simply unrealistic. I am an avid DIYer and had a LOT of trouble with this project. My end result is basically unusable.

I wasted over $100 on this project. It's kind of disappointing that he's making money off of this but it is lacking so much.

can you make an easy DIY glidecam? God bless you more bro!

Автор Juris Daugulis ( назад)
this is no average home built slider, it's DIY artwork

Автор romansten9 ( назад)
nice video. thats ALOT of work. If anyone is interested in doing this MUCH simpler, you could use a premade slider, such as ball bearing drawer hardware. (that makes your kitchen drawers slide in and out) you can find very long sliders and you might get them free because people always remodel kitchens and throw the old hardware away. Its even more smooth and fluid and has a natural ability to regulate its speed. why "re-invent the wheel?"

Автор Gerry Rock ( назад)
This is perfect! Great video and the templates are very helpful! Thanks a lot!

Автор Mohammed Buchirre ( назад)
Looking forward for your DIY camera jib 🙂
