Why remake a notorious brutal movie and make it so juvenile? As a major SSTTINTD fan I very unimpressed. Hope it gets a remake

    I loved this series.
and in the stories, they may be short but they discuss various things like cannibalism and witchcraft, Not to mention all the body horror!
When i revisited these stories, I was shocked when I figured out that these books were MEANT for children!!

This book scared the hell out of me as a kid. The spiders emerging from the girl's face struck me so. I remember being afraid of the section in my 2nd grade science book with pictures of spiders after that.

So glad they made this. Those were the books that I checked out the most in my elementary school library. I remember that when I got to the red spot story, I would be careful not to touch the woman’s face. Don’t ask, I was like 6, so it made sense in my head.

aaaand no one agrees with you. shocking. it's almost as if you have no taste and would prefer a horror movie with 90% CGI and jumpscares as it's only scares.

What if the movie gets three parts? Cause y'know, anyone fan of the books knows this: there are three books in the Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark. So my guess is, there might be three movies.

I really didn’t care for this movie tbh. The characters were all super unlikeable. The monster design really did carry the whole thing. The ending was super dissatisfying and the movie overall was just kind boring.

I'm starting to think it's set in the 60's solely to force in that racism plot. I mean why else is it set during the 60's, to talk about Vietnam? What does Nixon have to do with these books exactly? 80's nostalgia is still a thing, so just do that, have it set in the 80's: 1981, when the first book was released.

    • Wyatt Webb
Wyatt Webb 5 days ago +1

Yeah, I felt that too. The only reason they had it was to make you feel sympathy for the one character, and nothing else to do with the plot.
