  • People often romanticise the idea of retreating to a secluded mountain, to a temple or shrine. Now I can see why. (Even if the tranquility is somewhat disturbed by the presence of Ryotaro).

Oh man, that vague answer now makes me really want to know if Natsuki and Ryotaro actually DO dislike each other or something...
On a side note: great video, I've never seen snow in real life, I wish to do so one day; but that's a difficult wish to fulfill living in México City (we get some crappy storms with ice hailing AT BEST =(...)

Hey Chris, I am going to Japan for a Year at the end of September and I really want to go skiing, but I don't really have the space to take winter equipment with me. How is your experience with buying warm winter jackets in Japan? Do they have bigger sizes for Europeans or is it hard to find the right size? By the way I love the videos man. Thanks for the entertainment

i had to comment that i would love to see a movie called "Gon with the rice" so long as it portrays real 17 or 18th century Japanese migrating on horseback through perral in a sort of zigzag motion till they reach there destination despite all there obstacles along the way only to have one or so caricature live to the 1990"s to tell there story before they die...

That snow and the forest looks absolutely gorgeous. I would love to visit norther Japan someday. I thought Japan was one big crowded city of concrete and steel and asphalt. Why aren't there more people living in these places? Can one purchase land here cheap, or is it all protected by the government? This area and Hokkaido both look like a great place to buy a plot of land and build a cabin and retire to.

I'm sitting here, it's 8am. I havent slept. I havent got anything to do. Just feeling this lost kind of detachment from the world around me. And then I watch this, and that mountain is so breathtakingly beautiful that I actually start to weep. It's been so long since I wanted something. Really felt a need to do something or experience something. But this... I *need* this in a way I cant properly express. Somehow, someway, I have to do this.

In the west, these people would be called hippies. It sounds mean but think of what people would call someone saying things like "I need to feel nature" or "on the mountain, I become an animal"... You don't even need to take in the meditation part to call them hippies.

Right know I am 20 years old and I am having a crisis with my life where I am lost with my self and all I do are stupid decisions that make me sad and get even more lost with my self, so I am caught in a loop where I cant find the answers I seek.
The moment you whent to the forest dressed in white, showing the beauty of the place, what the monk had to say about himself, and everything else, I remember that I used to enjoy the present and I didnt think about the future as much as I do now, I knew who I was and what I wanted. So it opened my eyes, I know this strange but thanks, somehow a video of this trip made me realise what I need to do, so I can become how I once was and stop this loop of stupid decisions.
Also sry for the spelling errors, english is my second language as I live on Argentina, and we speak Spanish.
