He 100 percent sounds like he doesnt want to be in Winnipeg. When someone says they have nothing bad to say about something usually means they have a lot of bad things to say about that something lmao

Laine isn't going anywhere any time soon. The jets will match anything the other cap space challenged teams can throw at them. If he doesn't want to sign, he'll sit. He still hasn't proved his full value, so his negoiating position is too weak right now to be that agressive. He has to play and it will be in Winnipeg, at least for the near term.

The kid needs to put down the video game controller and pick up a hockey stick more. Bottom line is, he's gonna get paid to score goals. Yes it great he wants to become a better all round player but he's a sniper, sniper's score goals. If he wants to be like his idol Ovechkin then he needs to work on putting the puck in the net. He doesn't deserve a long term deal yet, he hasn't proven much yet so teams won't be quick to step up and pay him for 7 or 8 years when he's still unproven. Honestly as a Jets fan I say if he leaves Winnipeg that's fine because frankly Connor is better and Thats where the focus should be

  • ramms mutter69
    ramms mutter69 28 days ago +2

He would fit in really well in WSH. Putting him under Ovechkin would really help this kid grow.

    • ramms mutter69

@Jessie Ah in no way would i trade anyone for him. Since he isn't consistent he would have to sign a bargain deal. But hey i can dream.

    • Jessie
      Jessie 24 days ago

Also they are both on the LW on the PP, they score from the same spot so you'd have to have Laine on the second wave and there is no second wave in WSH for the guy playing LW on the PP lol, Ovi stays on for 2mins. Wouldnt be smart to trade for Laine and leave him on the bench on the PP.

    • Henri
      Henri 25 days ago

Laine and Ovi can't play in the same team, WSH defenders would start rioting.

It’s a great, great city. Everyone who lives here really cares about one another, that’s what stands out to me. We are one group, all of us. Everybody is your neighbor."

Like I said, if they play Laine with a second class center like Bryan Little over Mark Sheifele, then he should be traded anyway. The coach obviously has no desire to use the kid properly in his lineup. I am guessing Paul Maurice is an idiot that hates goals. But hey, keep Bryan Little and his 40 points per year. lol

So glad Leafs picked Matthews. Hard time seeing this kid succeed in a pressure cooker like Toronto since he could barely keep it together in the ashtray of Canada. Maybe if he stays off Fortnite he can put it all together. Still has the best one-timer since Ovie but he has to show he's more than a one trick pony, especially if he's gonna get paid over 10mil.
