My grandma got brain damage because the doctors failed to catch her uti for a whole year even though she kept going to the doctors. The infection spread to her brain giving her viral encephalitis. She almost died, but now she has regained a lot of her balance and memories now, and she can remember vague details about the day before now. She’s come a long way, but I was twelve at the time, and so angry that the doctors failed her until it was too late. It wasn’t caught because in older people utis sometimes don’t show regular symptoms and can sometimes cause confusion and nausea instead of regular signs.

I really like the way she talks about the UTIs. This makes me feel like going and doing sexual activity with the girls and peeing with them to show how much is there when getting infection.

About 2 months ago I had a UTI infection and it SUUUUUUUUUUUCKED! To prevent infection you can drink a crap ton of water and change underwear daily. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY CHANGE. YOURE. TAMPONS. It’s soooo dangerous to keep tampons in for too long (12+ hours) But I hope it won’t be AS common anymore.

I had many UTI’s during my childhood, and again later in live, I started what I thought where back pains but I made high fever and even couldn’t stand anymore. So my gp said it’s not normal anymore every around three months you have an UTI, so was referred to an specialist it was a suffering needed to do different things. They found out I had a reflow of urine to my kidney and he saw old scars in my kidneys but my right kidney is the bottom part most damaged and doesn’t work that well. So I had a re-implant from my blather to my kidney. Now I’m under medical continuity supervision also because of my Crohn’s and Spondylitis Ankolysis

When you say "cis females" I think you mean "people with vulvas." cis women aren't the only people with vulvas: trans men and non binary people can have them too. Just a gentle Nudge to adjust your language to include trans masculine and nonbinary people. 💜

Pretty sure you don't need to, it just speeds up the process.

I used to get painful UTIs frequently & my doctor said to start taking cranberry supplements everyday. I started doing that about 15 years ago & I have not had a single UTI! The cranberry supplements are much more potent than drinking cranberry juice.

Almost died when I was 5 because of this doctors insisted it was nothing then I started getting sick and ouking they said it was just the stomach flu, but it kept getting worse. Mom took me to childrens hospital to find out my kidneys were almost septetic from being left untreated for so long. Got them so much as a child after this (one of the worst childhoods ever) and still get them now

How do you know if you have a UTI?

    • Tyra C. Mingo
Tyra C. Mingo 4 months ago

The most common sign is you always feel as if you have to pee but when you go nothing or very little comes out. Your pee maybe a bit cloudy too. You may also feel pain in your lower abdominal area BUT, not everyone experience pain. Some don't have any pain at all but they have the other symptoms. See a doctor if ASAP if you notice any of those symptoms. Even if you feel it today and wake up tomorrow and it goes away. Have your GYNO get a urine sample and a culture. It may not show in the urine right away. The culture will show if anything is there. I have been to the doctor before and have been told I don't have a UTI because my urine showed no signs but a few days later the doctor called and said I had one because the lab results showed I did. I know my body. I pay attention. I knew, even when the doctor didn't. I had no pain whatsoever. I kept getting that "always have to pee feeling" the next day it was gone. I still scheduled an appointment with my GYNO and as it turns out I was right. My friend just died last month from a UTI that became sepsis. My experience happened before she passed. I could have very well been in the same situation if I had just ignored it.

PLEASEEEEE!!!! make sure you see a doctor every single time you get a UTI. See a urologist if this is something that occurs monthly. You may have other medical problems causing UTI's to occur so often. June 3 2019 I lost a dear friend of mine from an UTI that became Sepsis. Please take it from me, a UTI may seem like no big deal but it can certainly kill you! For 4 days her family and friend prayed over her while she was in a coma, hoping she would wake up, hoping she would fight it. None of us realized we were just watching her die. When the UTI becomes Uerosepsis your organs shut down. Unfortunately, she didn't realized how severe her condition was and by the time she was taking to the hospital it was too late. My friend was 36yrs old with a 6yr old daughter who now has to grow up without her mother because of damn UTI. PLEASEEEEEE pay attention to your body and get yourself checked every time. Your body will give you signs. DO NOT ignore them.

Urine being sterile - that is misleading. It is "sterile" in that it is free of commonly detected bacteria, that would cause an UTI. There is already bacteria in there, but it's normally cultures that wouldn't cause an infection.
