Gold Can’t Compete With Bitcoin As Form Of Money

  • When it comes to recognition as “money” and a “store of value,” bitcoin outcompetes gold on its practicality and versatility, said Clem Chambers, CEO of ADVFN and author of the bestseller “101 Ways to Pick Stock Market Winners.”
“I could not take enough gold out of the country for it to be useful to me if I had to leave the country; if I was a South Korean and I thought the North was going to drop a bomb on my city, if I was an Iranian that was running away from people in Iran. There are all sorts of reasons why I would want to take a lot of money abroad. I can’t take more than $10,000. In gold, I can’t carry enough, it’s too heavy. I can’t take, say, 20 kilos of gold to the airport,” Chambers told Kitco News.

I'm sorry but what is this guy talking about? Who personally owns 20kg of gold?! That's around $850,000 worth. I realise Kitco is a network for major investors but most people (especially the millenials he mentions) are not putting that kind of money into either gold or bitcoin. Show me a person under 30 in a Western country who can afford to buy $1 million worth of bitcoin or 20kg of gold today, that's like 0.0001% of the population he is talking about (and most of these hyper rich young "Kardashians" are more interested in Ferrari and Rolex than bitcoin).
Traditional investors who have money to put down are not interested in crypto and he even says this in the interview. His entire argument hinges on the claim that there are these mysterious people in Asia buying bitcoin, even though there is no proof these people actually exist.
I'm not saying crypto has no use value, it does very much have use value, but the trends most crypto enthusiasts talk about are sheer fantasies at this point.

When the GOLD and SILVER MANIPULATION by the RESERVE BANKS stops. BIT-COIN and all this CRYTO-CRAP will be WORTHLESS! The REAL price of GOLD should be around
$20,000.00 and SILVER should be $2,000.00 X OZ. which is a 10 X 1 Average which is the the aoumt that comes out of the GROUND! I CAN HOLD MY GOLD AND SILVER....BITCOIN
is an IMAGINARY ELECTRONIC GIZMO!! I'll be keeping my TANGIBLE ASSETS THANK YOU.

This crypto bull is just hawking his new book. His argument that he can't carry a large amount of gold is really stretching it. "I can't bring 20 kilos of gold with me" is a bit ridiculous. That is about $800,000.00 US$ in gold, at today's prices. When the SHTF, that may well be enough (millions) for a family to retire very comfortably. I can't travel with over$10,000.00 USD perhaps, but over $10,000.00 of gold would weigh less than a half of a pound, and could be comfortably carried in my pocket. It seems that he is implying that if he wanted to carry over $10,000.00 USD, it would weigh an unmanageable 20 kilograms. I don't trust, like, nor believe him, and I don't think that Dani does either. I'll keep my "barbarous relic", thank you very much. Enjoy your btc in a grid-down world.

Remember the Banks bought Bitcoin at $8,500 so when it hits anything above $9,000 they will dump it all on the people.! This is what the banks do every time the market crashes. They along with the media always make the people take the losses.

Something really strange is going on. Now that Gold has rally. Kitco and Daniela are staying really quiet About it. The interviews have the direct Intention to distract from whats really going on. Like... how do you Always moan About Gold being down and Always asking About Gold rallying, but when it does.. you completely Igore it and start Talking About bitcoin.

Brilliant. The Chinese are worried about their currency continuing to be devalued by a few % points, so they're pouring their money into cryptos which could easily lose more than 50% of their value in a few months? Sorry, but I don't buy that line. The general Chinese population isn't that stupid. If BTC is truly money, which is debatable, I'll pass on trading in a vehicle that can and will fall dramatically again.

Lol, BITCOIN has nothing on gold. Gold has a track record of thousands of years as money. How long has bitcion been around has money? Gold doesn't need electricity or the internet to trade. Gold has privacy! If you think the internet is private then the joke on you. Gold is rare and can't be inflated like fiat or bitcoin. I dont see central banks hoarding bitcoins. Buy what you want Englishman but I am going gold.

Oh the BS. Then why are central banks buying physical gold ? China is buying mostly pglhysical gold and silver. It is not a store of value just a way to money launder. And for that matter there is zero intrinsic value. Crypto propagandist. What this bugger fails to say is that people do not hold it an asset. What a pack of shit.

Yeah but its still over $7000 compared to golds $1300. Even at its all time low of $3000 it was still outperforming gold. So no gold has little competition towards bitcoin in terms of being #1 in price. And I hold alil of both.
