When a Japanese man is very pissed of at you, the words: Caucasian and white (dirty white) come rapidly, but it's very rare.
I guess the Japanese keep their racism for them self.

4:02 I'm not really inclined to use swear words, but I always thought it was a good idea to learn them for the very reason you pointed out. Especially if your listening people that are used to casually swearing, it can be very easy to pick up the general meaning of a word without having any idea of it's full impact. That can get embarrassing, like the time I introduced a boyfriend to my family and he accidentally swore at my 7 year old cousin.

I try not to swear, (but I do sometimes) and knowing that a lot of people where I live, in America, seem to use these words as adjectives, I'm not that bothered when someone swears around me. That being said, I think swear words really can change a conversation, and if you don't know their intent as someone who doesn't speak the language of the person swearing, it can get really confusing. Some people only swear when they're being aggressive, and some people just color their sentences with them or use them as jokes. I think if people (not just Japanese people, but anyone who learning a new language) were taught this when learning to speak to foreigners, it could really help a lot of conversations make more sense and then they'd know when to be offended by a rude American (or whoever they're talking to) and when to just realize that that's how some people talk

  • Garry Smith

I have to say that people who are whinging at swear words should be reminded of this quote by the Reverend St. George Carlin:
“There are no bad words. Bad thoughts. Bad intentions, and wooooords.”
It's all context! In fact, the word 'Fuck' is the most beautifully descriptive and versatile word in the English language. And based on context, it can describe love, hate, and everything in between.
In short, if you are more offended by the word 'fuck' than by the everyday violence that seems to surround us, you need to seriously have your head examined.

I really dislike people who don’t like swear words. There’s something wrong with them. I don’t trust them. And it’s just downright disrespectful of them to expect you to change the way you speak, so their fragile little ears don’t have to hear “naughty” words! Fuckworths, the lot of them! They can all go fuck themselves quite frankly.

Honestly, words are words, whether good or bad. If they are being used somewhat commonly, one should know them if they want to "know" the language.
Of course, everyone can choose whether they use it or not. Japanese people are still people, not robots. They clearly were learning the usage, not just parroting it to their Anglo owner.

It is true that swear words need to be studied to avoid misunderstanding. I have a perfect example from my life of an immigrant. Back when I firstly came to Canada I was not acknowledged of racial tencions in NA society. Of course I knew that there is a word "nigger" that refers back to the slavery times and can offend people. However, I also knew that these times were long ago and, to me, everything seemed to be chill. With that in mind, I was not puzzled with people using a word "nigga" on social media and in everyday life. I had to learn the rules the hard way. Once being in a company of guys from school I thought it was nice of me to call a black guy "nigga" as if it was referring to "pal". Immideately I was grabbed by the shirt and told to shut up. Guy thought I was trying to be racist and offensive. Of course I explained: I do not mean it that way. However, not only I felt ashamed by my words but the accident also left a feeling of isolation from the society.

the irony in one of the comments is the dude's name is Kirito. also, most if not all Japanese people that I know have relationships with, who might I add, are fully grown adults, they all swear in some way or another. Not because of some British dude taught them, but because they wanted to learn. I know it doesn't sum all Japanese people up, but I'm trying to show weeaboos that Japan is not a holy blessed place where shit smells like daisies and everything is perfect. It's a great place but it is not, I repeat (!!!NOT!!!) anime. @weeaboos
