Thank you for this discussion. There are many points to having music in the army. As musicians we honor those who serve or have served, entertain troops, play for and honor the fallen, serve as ambassadors, and fill many roles as public relations soldiers. Some members of the field band have deployed and we are trained as any soldier is through our time at Basic Combat Training. Our hope is to build the support of military from the American People and sustain their faith in their Army through our music. Music is a powerful tool.

NothingButTheWin And you have that right. I'm not saying that you aren't justified to have that opinion. For me all service is respectable.

+Brandon Burrows yes you have answered all my questions. i guess in my mind if i was to see someone in uniform and ask if they were in the army and they said yes i play the drums, i would be confused and disappointed.

I thought the Army was such great musicians that I added some of the songs to a CD to listen to on the way to work and during lunch, along with Marine Corps., and Navy, good job guys and thank you for your service, I also added a full version of the Star Spangled Banner to the CD and titled it "America Is #1 Album".
