Considering the Project Stream beta was in January, it's definitely rushed but the technology is undeniably amazing - - when it works. And yes, it requires fast internet to work best and those with slow internet and data caps should not be surprised with suboptimal performance. Twitch games like MMO shooters should also not be surprised either. The Tech will get better and even be able to eventually stream apps like Adobe Premiere for cheap/fast video rendering which is probably Google's ultimate goal for long term financial gain. Gaming is just the beta driving the tech forward. With the colossal clusterfudge of a launch, I'd definitely expect a massive shake up in the near future and a hard relaunch in mid-2020, assuming they can 1) reduce latency significantly, 2) overcome data cap issues, and 3) competitors don't come up with superior alternatives in the next 6-12 months.
